Red Couch (Nov 2)

Sunday during our shopping time on Shamian Island all five families took time to meet up for a photo shoot on the red couch at the White Swan Hotel. The couch areas are only supposed to be for hotel guests and I'm pretty sure that the staff knew we weren't staying there, but they must have known that we were five determined mommies! By the time we got all of the children changed into their silk, took the numerous different groupings, changed some of them back into Western clothes (I say some because both of my kids didn't want to take off their silk ~ talk about attracting attention), and made our lunch plans, I think we lost an hour of shopping. But the pictures were well worth it, and C.C. and I more than made up for our lost shopping time when we went back (for about three hours) without the kids!

Anyway, here we go...

Our beautiful children! Luke, Henry, Kate, Eli, Caleb, & Zach
Zach and Luke are biological brothers that were adopted. You can check out their story (and the story of the others) by clicking the links under Caleb's Travel Group in the sidebar.

The big sisters ~ Kylie, Anna Claire, & Darby

Not bad for nine kids ~ this shot includes the "new kids" and the "big sisters."

The "Lianjiang sisters" with their new brothers ~ Kylie, Caleb, Darby and Henry. Sadly we waited until last to try and take this one. Luckily there will be many more chances over the years...

Two of the beautiful families that have been with us. Darby's family (still surreal that we traveled with them again this time!) ~ Baba Stephen, Mama C.C., baby Henry, and big sister Darby. Zach & Luke's family ~ Baba Ken, Mama Tina, middle brother Zach, big brother Clayton, and little brother Luke (they are missing sister Morgan who is in college and couldn't miss class).

It's hard to believe that today our travel group begins to scatter to the winds...

What beautiful children and families. I'm delighted that you all took the time and effort to get the pictures together on the red couch. Will be a lifetime of memories. Can't wait to see you Friday night. Are there things that I can buy that you'll need while you are here for a few days?
