He's here!

Right now my heart (and arms ~ Caleb is sitting on my lap as I type!) are full!

Very brief for now...

We got to the civil affairs office a bit early. Ian filled out some of the paperwork under our local guide's (Zoe ~ a truly delightful young woman!) watchful eye.

Zoe talks to Kylie while Ian fills out forms.

And then suddenly I saw some movement at the door and there he was! I couldn't even talk!

My first glimpse

We simply got down on the floor and tried to interact with him in order not to stress him out.

Kylie was so wonderful and offered him several toys and Teddy Grahams.

And just to be real, when it came time to pick him up when the SWI staff left, he did cry. My heart broke for him, but I was glad to see him upset that those he knew left. I feel more confident that he HAS known love!

With my broken Mandarin I told him not to cry, that Mama was here. He was still a little unsure, but let me hold him close. Of course that meant that both arms were full...

Luckily my arms have room for both of my loves!

He's laughing some already ~ God is good! More to come tonight!!!

Oh, Kristi, he's PRECIOUS! I'm wiping away tears, thinking of that day last year when it was Kylie you were holding for the first time. I will never forget the looks on yours and Ian's faces. And there you are, with your SON on your lap! And Kylie's so different, so grown up...WOW!

Thanks for posting! I'm glad I waited up! We love you guys! Make sure to give Caleb an extra kiss and hug from us!

Welcome to the family Caleb!! And you are such a wonderful big sister, Kylie. What beautiful children. I have thought of all of you so often these last few days, imagining where you are and what you were doing and thinking each time how much closer to Caleb you were. Now I have pictures. What a joy. Give Caleb and Kylie hugs and kisses from their nainai. Can hardly wait to see you in person.

Kristi,

I think I've looked at these pictures about 20 times and it's only 11:20. He's so cute and I love the picture of you holding them both and how Kylie is looking at him. I've printed out the pictures and am taking them home to the kids to see.

Cogratulations on your beautiful little guy. God is so good in so many ways. This is what I love most about the adoption world watching and or seeing parents the day they meet their child for the first time. It brings tears of joy to my eyes...thanks for sharing.
