"BIG DURL BEHD!"

And so it has happened...

After several crib escapes ~ two of which put Kylie flat on her back on the floor of her room ~ and her unbridled excitement of sleeping in a "big durl behd" (when we forgot to take her pack'n'play on our trip to Lake Junaluska last month) we decided it was time. It took us a while to find a bed and the comforter we liked ~ at a price our budget liked! ~ and then we had to collect pillows, mattresses, and sheets, but finally we had all the pieces. Then we just lacked the time to actually get it assembled.

Saturday was the big day. After breakfast Kylie and Daddy disassembled the crib,

put together the main bed,

built the trundle section,

and then checked out the finished product. (I think she likes it!)

Before I could even get the quilt on it she had to jump up and express her excitement!

I suppose that the excitement of it all wore my sweetie out. Within 20 minutes of the bed being assembled and made, she was ready to try it out. She fell asleep faster than she ever did in her crib, and yes, I sat and cried while rocking in the glider watching her sleep as I thought about how quickly she is growing up...

I am one big sappy, emotional mess these days! Even I cried, looking at the picture of Ian taking that crib down! Didn't we just put those cribs UP? How can our girls be growing up so fast? Kylie, I'm so glad you're happy in your new bed, but, please, oh please, stop growing up so fast! Kristi, you and Ian did a beautiful job picking out a sweet bed and comforter. I'm lovin' the trundle...now I just gotta figure out a way to score a trip your direction so the girls can have a sleepover! Well, and me, too...

SEE YOU SOON! YIPPEE! WEEHOO!

So cute -- and a trundle is such a good idea! Let me know how it works - we bought a toddler bed, but haven't put it up because I'm afraid Anne Marie will NEVER take a nap again if she has the choice to get out!!
