How to "buy time" to cook

Some days it is tougher than others to get dinner going around here. When Kylie naps too early in the day the infamous "bewitching hour" comes right as I'm trying to get a meal on the table. So yesterday I used her love for fruit to my advantage and bought enough time to get things on the stove...

She "opened," ate, and disposed of the peel of her treasured clementine all by herself!

For the record in addition to normal breakfast and lunch items, our little "fruitavore" has eaten a handful of raspberries, one banana, and THREE clementines today before lunch!

**Oh, and for those of you praying in response to my plea concerning bedtime, it's getting better, but we still have a way to go. Please keep up the prayers!

Peeling the clementines by herself now? Quick thinking, Mommy. Kept her busy as well as healthy as you prepared dinner. Can she be getting old enough to do these things? Seems she was just 11 months old!!!

I'm continuing to pray about bedtime. Know it will continue to get better with all of the prayers!

Good idea! Can you believe how self-sufficient our girls are getting?!

oh my gosh.. our maddy is the same way. She can not get enough clementines or bananas. However, she calls them both nanas when she wants one.. LOL

My gosh she is a little girl now. Wow, they grow up too fast. Love the reference to bewitching hour. I think we have that at our house too.

I am so glad to see that Sara is not the only 'fruitavore' out there. :) She constantly does the sign for banana, but will take anything you give her...blueberries, grapes, orange, etc.

Hope you are all doing well. Would love to see you again soon.
