How life changed in two weeks...

So I was thinking yesterday and today how drastically life changed over the past two weeks...

Thursday morning the 30th of November started like many other days for us lately. I was doing what Ian lovingly calls "Hurricane Kristi" as I was trying to figure out what to wear, pack my lunch, make coffee, eat a supernutritious breakfast (I think it was cold pizza that morning), and get out the door to preschool on time. (Yes, you should be conjuring up a vision of Dagwood and Blondie, but Ian is the one holding the car keys at the door in our house ~ his commute is much shorter!)

Anyway, I decided at the last second to check the CCAA's website to see if there had been any changes. (As stated in an earlier post, we knew that we were going to be next, we just didn't know when next was going to happen). So I grab my laptop, put it on the kitchen counter and pull up their site as I'm adding cream and sugar to my coffee mug ~ actually it is more like adding coffee to my cream and sugar...

And there it was: "The CCAA has finished the placement of children for the families whose adoption application documents were registered with our office before September 8, 2005." And with that sentence, our lives were changed! No longer would we wait and wonder if it would ever happen. We knew that after six long years of being prepared for this moment, our prayers were answered ~ WE WERE PARENTS!There is so much more to tell about that Thursday and Friday, but it would be a novel to put into one post. Now that we have our wits back about us (well, sorta anyway) I'll be keeping up better. Stay tuned...
