A Patchwork of Love

It has been a rather quiet week at the Miller house. Ian's been in CA for a demo and meeting with the board of directors for his company and Maya and I have been waiting patiently for him to return.

I decided while I had a few days to myself to finally quit procrastinating (I did win the best procrastinators award for my class at Elon ~ I think that means I'm the one that pulled it off the best...) and get started on my plea for help with our daughter's Bai Jai Bei. I can't tell you why in the world I didn't get the letters out months ago, guess the procrastination thing is real.

Now that I've gotten many letters out (still tracking down addresses for a few folks) I'm really excited. I think this is such an amazing way for "baby M_____" ~ if you want to know about her name, read this ~ to see how many folks have been thinking about her and praying for her before she arrives. Actually, if you think about it, before we ever see her face she will have been loved so much by us and so many other people. Ian and I are so excited that we will have her quilt and memory book to share with her.

Oh, if you are like me, you'd love to help out, but feel like your creative abilities are failing you for this project. I always function better when I see what someone else has done (I have a tremendous jealousy of my sister's artistic ability. You have no idea what it is like to love a new box of 64 Crayola crayons but feel like you can't do a thing with them!) You can find some great examples here. Your wish card may be really fancy, or it may be really plain (I think in art that can be called elegant), but what all of them will have in common is a genuine care and concern for our little one.
